A Recipe for Granny Rachel’s Apple Cooler
This recipe has been passed down in the Vagabond Temple family, and will be a welcome refreshment in the summer heat. Enjoy the natural sweetness of the apples, or add just a spoonful of sugar, and you’ve got a most delightful sweet treat with a lemon twist!
Ingredients:
Serving: 2 large glasses
- 2 apples
- 2 lemon
- 1 tablespoon sugar*
- 2 cups water
- crushed ice
Method:
Grate the apples into a large bowl.
Squeeze in 1 lemon, add the sugar* and mix.
Add the water and the crushed ice.
Peel the other lemon and cut it into to small pieces.
Add the lemon pieces to the bowl and put in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Serve chilled!
*Adding sugar is optional
